Hey everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. Today, I wanted to adopt a more reflective tone, especially considering the timing - British Summer Time and the final 10 days of Ramadan.
As March draws to a close, we officially welcome the beginning of summer. Yesterday, while immersed in my homework, I glanced out the window to behold a distractingly beautiful view on a weekend noon, prompting me to recall a video I watched some time ago on self-development.
Many of us are currently working towards our goals. This journey can be long and arduous, and while we eagerly anticipate our eventual success, we often find ourselves reminiscing about the journey itself. Yet even if we don't, it's crucial to make the journey as enjoyable and worthwhile as possible to brighten our lives. Often, we realize that there's no point in complaining or stressing, as we'll ultimately reach our destination regardless. Focusing on trivial matters only serves to distract us from our greater goals and the happiness that awaits us when we concentrate on what truly matters and what we can control.
At that moment, it struck me that I'm nearly halfway through my A-Levels. A year ago, I was gearing up for my GCSEs, and now I'm preparing for university. While these past few months have felt lengthy and intense, they've also been incredibly enriching. One of the most significant tasks I've undertaken is the plethora of math homework assigned, which I've come to accept as an integral part of life. Despite the staggering amount of further maths homework, I've endeavored to make the most of it, finding satisfaction in completing such a substantial workload. Over time, I've developed a desire for challenge, often feeling unfulfilled when tackling easy tasks instead of more demanding ones. To be frank, I've become more focused since the outset, particularly with further maths pushing the boundaries of my productivity and time management skills.
Sharing my advice and experiences while also learning from others has been incredibly fulfilling, and I hope to continue being a source of support and guidance as I continue to grow. I am grateful for the opportunity.
Though my time since starting sixth form has been largely consumed by my studies, I'm acutely aware that I only have so much time left before my A-Levels, followed by my degree, and then the world. The experiences and knowledge gained over these past few months have been invaluable. However, while I may not always agree with certain aspects of the school's administration, I believe it's overall beneficial. I've achieved more in this brief period than I did throughout nearly my entire time in secondary school, particularly in terms of the activities I've been involved in at school.
Life's too short to dwell on complaints. Those who do risk falling behind while others forge ahead. Moreover, maintaining a positive outlook on life is essential for personal growth and overall well-being.
So, what's the takeaway? Well I want to say well done, you've made it this far. Keep going. And don't forget to enjoy the journey along the way. It'll make life all the more rewarding and beautiful. I also want to express my gratitude to those who have taken the time to read my newsletter and remain engaged. It truly means a lot. Special thanks to my parents, family and friends as well!
Gratitude for every word read and every thought shared. Until next time!
Best wishes,
Ismail
P.S. Best of luck to everyone with their end-of-year exams and the summer term ahead!
